Bollywood family drama, Aap Ke Saath, directed by J. Om Prakash and written by Sachin Bhowmick was released On March 4, 1986. te movie starred Anil Kapoor and Rati Agnihotri in lead roles while Vinod Mehra, Smita Patil, Pinchoo Kapoor, Utpal Dutt, Aruna Irani, Amrish Puri and Gajanan Jagirdar also played significant characters in the film. The hit music of the film was composed by the veteran music director duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal while the songs were sung by Mohammed Aziz, Shabbir Kumar, Anuradha Paudwal, Lata Mangeshkar and Salma Agha.

The movie starts with two young guys, Ashok ( Vinod Mehra ) and Vimal ( Anil Kapoor ), who belongs to a wealthy family and lives alongwith their grandfather, K.K. ( Utpal Dutt ). Vimal is a very big womenizer while Ashok is a sincere guy. Vimal has no interest in their family business and as a result Ashok is the only one left to look after the whole business. Ashok meets with Ganga ( Smita Patil ) and falls in love with her. But Ganga turns out to be a conwomen.

K.K. wants Ashok to get married with a girl named Deepa ( Rati Agnihotri ). But opposite to this Vimal and Deepa falls in love with each other. But soon Vimal shows his true colours and betrays Deepa. When Ashok learns about this, he decides to bring back Vimal on right path. But he get shocked to reveal that Vimal is living with a coutesan now who is none other than Ganga.
