Bollywood romantic drama, Aap Ki Kasam, directed by J. Om Prakash was released on April 17, 1974. The movie starred Rajesh Khanna and Mumtaz in lead roles while Sanjeev Kumar, Ranjeet, A. K. Hangal, Mehmood Junior, Dina Pathak, Jayshree T., Rehmaan, Asrani and Lolita Chatterjee also played important roles in the film. The music of the film was given by legandray music director Rahul Dev Burman while the songs were rendered by Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar etc. The movie was a box office hit and recieved rave reviews for its superhit musical score.

Kamal Bhatnagar ( Rajesh Khanna ), a middle-class guy, meets with a gorgeous and wealthy Sunita ( Mumtaz) and soon they both falls in love with each other. Their parents also gives their nod for the marraige and they both get married with each other. Kamal and Sunita are happily married and enjoying their life fully. But the problem arises when Kamal’s best friend, Mohan ( Sanjeev Kumar ), comes to live in their neighbourhood. Mohan befirends Sunita also and this creates a suspicion in Kamala’s mind. Kamal starts feeling jealous to Mohan as Sunita takes a very good care of him. However, Mohan and Sunita both are unknown to this mentality of Kamal.

Kamal starts keeping an eye on Sunita’s activities but fails to get any clue about Mohan and Sunita relationship. Finally, he confronst to Sunita about her affair with Mohan. Sunita get shocked to this and try to convince him that there is no such thing between her and Mohan. But she fails to convince Kamal and that she love only him. Kamal leaves her. But one thing to which Kamal is unkonwn is that Sunita is pregnant with his child. Years later, Kamal, who is a homeless wanderer, finds out that Sunita is married to someone else now. And she has given birth to his child. But is this possible for him to return to Sunita and ask her to forgive him.
