Aas Paas was a romantic movie released on January 16, 1981. The movie was directed by J Om Prakash and produced by Jagdish Kumar. The top roles in the movie were played by Dharmendra, Prem Chopra, Hema Malini and Nirupa Roy while the roles of Indrani Mukherjee, Nadira, Omprakash, Aruna Irani, Asrani and Rajendra Nath were equally important. The music of the film was directed by Laxmikant Kudalkar and Pyarelal while the songs were sung by Kishore Kumar, Mohammed Rafi and Lata Mangeshkar.

Aas Paas was a romantic film, the story of which revolved mostly around a man named Arun ( Dharmendra ) who by mistake comes across a beautiful girl named Seema ( Hema Malini ) and falls in love with her soon enough. Both wanted to marry each other but the problem to their life was posed by her questionable character which has created doubts in the minds of his mother and himself. The movie takes a turn when one day Arun gets involved in an accident and was believed to be dead.

The news affects Seema a lot and more than anyone else. She was devastated and starts taking alcohol. Not only this she also started dancing in a bar and was raped by a man. The movie takes a turn when Arun returns to the family, Seema was joyous to see him but was unwilling to tell him about her past and what had actually happened to her. Arun takes her along to his family and introduces to Prem ( Prem Chopra ) whom she identifies as the person who raped her.
