Bollywood romantic thriller, Aashiq, directed by Indra Kumar was released on 26 January 2001. The movie starred Bobby Deol and Karishma Kapoor in lead roles while Anupam Kher, Rahul Dev and Mukesh Rishi also played significant characters in the film. The melodious music of the film was given by Sanjeev Darshan and the songs were sung by Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik, Anuadha Paudwal, Roop Kumar Rathod etc. The movie went to do avrage business at the box office.

The movie starts with a young guy, Chander Kapoor ( Bobby Deol ), who believes in helping his friends in every difficlut situation. He helps his friend Jay in getting married to Neena ( Mrinal Kulkarni ), who is the daughter of a strict police inspector ( Mukesh Rishi ). Pooja ( Karishma Kapoor ), who is the best friend of Neena, get impressed by Chander’s personality. She plays a prank on him by calling him with a wrong identity. Chander learns about Pooja’s feeling for him, he accepts her love and they both falls in love with each other.

But Pooja’s parents opposes to their relationship. Pooja decides to run away from her home but ends up abducted in a brothel run by Baburao ( Rahul Dev ). When Chander learns about this, he starts searching for her. Pooja’s dad ( Anjan Srivastav ) files a FIR against Chander much to the liking of Neena’s dad. Neena’s dad also want the revenge from Chander. Chander get shocked when he founds that his friend Jay is also indulge in Pooja’s kidnapping. What will he do now ?
