The fantasy thriller Ab Ke Baras was released on May 10, 2002 under the direction of Raj Kanwar. The significant roles in the movie were enacted by Arya Babbar, Ashutosh Rana, Amrita Rao and Shakti Kapoor while the roles of Aashish Vidyarthi and Danny Denzongpa were equally important. The music of the film was directed by Anu Malik and the songs were sung by Adnan Sami, Sukhwinder Singh, Sunidhi Chauhan, Shaan, Anuradha Sriram and Richa Sharma.

The movie Ab Ke Baras directed by Raj Kanwar was an important movie for the debutante Arya Babbar, son of actor Raj Babbar. Raj Kanwar had earlier directed movies like Deewana, Judaai, Laadla and Baadal. The theme of the movie is about re-incarnation and thus is quite like movies Karz, Hamesha and Karan-Arjun. The movie is about true love that knows no boundary and can not be stopped with barriers. The movie is the desperate struggle of two people, first separated by destiny then united to face the odds.

The story of the movie revolves around Anjali ( Amrita Rao ) who is initially a carefree, young girl who is happy with the direction that her life is taking until her engagement day. She was tormented by the dreams that she was seeing whole night. She feels that her past life is calling her to India and she must visit to learn something. She comes across Karan ( Arya Babbar ) who is loving and caring towards her. They get on a journey putting each other in trouble and also taking out from it.
