Achcha Bura was a comedy drama that was released on September 17, 1983. The movie was directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee and produced by Deepak Parashar. The top roles in the movie were enacted by Raj Babbar, Amjad Khan, Anita Raaj and Ranjeet while the supporting roles were played by Dina Pathak, Sajjan, Utpal Dutt, Hari Shivdasani, Anu Dhawan, Chandra Mohan and Viju Khote. The music of the film was directed by Usha Khanna while the songs were sung by Suresh Wadkar, Usha Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle.

Achcha Bura was a comic and social film that revolved mostly around a man named Mohammad Sher Khan ( Amjad Khan ) who is a Pathan relocated to India from Afghanistan. He is now living in India and has a friend in Phagwara-born Veer Singh ( Ranjeet ). The movie starts when both with the help of each other, steals a truck from a businessman who had 20 such trucks. They are arrested and thus jailed but were released early for their good behavior.

After getting released from the jail, they started living in the Chaurasiya Chawl and lease a truck for themselves. They soon help in catching the local gangster Jaggu Dada ( Viju Khote ) and thus become famous. Then a Catholic Anglo-Indian, Rosy ( Dina Pathak ), comes to live there. Initially they made fun of her but soon the three become good friends. Rosy fell ill one day but the two friends made sure that she is recovered fast.
