Aetbaar was a romantic drama released on January 23, 2004 under the banner of Cutting Edge Entertainment. The movie was directed by Vikram Bhatt and produced by Khushroo Bhadha and Mandeep Singh. The lead roles were enacted by Amitabh Bachchan, John Abraham, Bipasha Basu and Supriya Pilgaonkar while Ali Asgar and Shruti Ulfat were also there in the film. Music of the film was directed by Rajesh Roshan and the songs were sung by Babul Supriyo, Shweta Pandit, Abhijeet, Alka Yagnik and Sujata Bhattacharya.

To produce the movie Aetbaar, the director Vikram Bhatt decided to cast his trustworthy actress Bipasha Basu with whom he produced the massive hit “Raaz” some time back. Tata Infomedia Limited related to the Yellow Pages got involved with the audio visual media with the launch of ‘Cutting Edge Entertainment’. The movie deals with the one of the beautiful bonding, the relationship between father and daughter. A father shares daughter’s sorrows and happiness but he has to take care of thing, difference being caring and over protective.

The story of the movie revolves around Dr. Malhotra ( Amitabh Bachchan ) who just wish to be protective to his daughter Ria ( Bipasha Basu ) while Ria feels that in the process of being protective he has become possessive. The twist in the story comes when Aryan ( John Abraham ) comes into her life. Being different in personalities, Malhotra feels that Aryan is just the opposite of what he was looking for in a guy while Ria feels that he is just perfect for her. Now starts a war of idealism and discipline between a father and an obsessed guy.
