Bollywood suspense action thriller, Aflatoon, directed by Guddu Dhanoa was released on December 19, 1997. The movie starred Akshay Kumar and Urmila Matondkar in lead roles while Anupam Kher, Farida Jalal, Tiku Talsania, Harish Patel andShazia Malik also played important characters in the film. The hit music of the film was given by the trio Dilip Sen, Sameer Sen and Surendra Singh Sodhi while the songs were rendered by Abhijeet, Udit Narayan, Hariharan, Anuradha Paudawal, Vinod Rathod, Remo Farnandes and Alisha Chinoi. the movie was a box office hit of that year.

The movie starts with a con man Raja ( Akshay Kumar ), who thinks that the easiest way of getting rich is to marry a wealthy girl. He decides to find a rich and beautiful girl and in the process enters in a college as a Teacher named Professor Parimal Chaturwedi. There he meets with beautiful Pooja ( Urmila Matondkar ), who is the only daughter of a wealthy industralist. Soon, Raja and Pooja falls in love with each other. When Pooja reveals about his true identity, Raja plays another game and manage to covince her that he really loves her.

Pooja introduce Raja to his father Vidya Prakash ( Anupam Kher ), who get shocked on seeing him for the first time. Vidya Prakash recoginzes him as a deadly criminal Rocky ( Akshay Kumar ), who is blackmailing him from quite sometime. Pooja then tell her father that he is Raja and not Rocky. Vidya Prakash then ask Raja to help him in getting rid from Rocky’s blackmailing. Raja first refuses but later agrees when Vidya Prakash puts the condition that Pooja will marry him only when he will help him out in getting rid of Rocky’s threat.
