The action and family movie Alibaba Aur 40 Chor was released on May 29, 1980 under the banner of F C Picture. The movie was directed by Umesh Mehra and produced by F C Mehra and Parvesh C Mehra. The key roles in the movie were enacted by Dharmendra, Zeenat Aman, Hema Malini and Prem Chopra while Frunze Marktchin, Madan Puri, Pinchoo Kapoor and Mac Mohan were also there in the movie. The music of the film was directed by R D Burman while the songs were sung by Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhosle and Lata Mangeshkar.

The movie Alibaba Aur 40 Chor was a famous action film that revolved mostly round a man named Alibaba ( Dharmendra ) who is a local man of Guleban in deep love with a girl named Marjina ( Hema Malini ). Guleban is a place ruled by a ruler called Abu Hasan. Guleban is a place that was terrorized by the attacks of dacoits who visit the place only to steal the belongings and valuables from the villagers. The movie starts when one day Alibaba hears the secret code of the dacoits.

One day Alibaba was with his animals wandering around when he comes across the group of dacoits whom he saw entering into a secret cave with the use of a password. Alibaba hears the password of them and takes away various things like jewelry from the cave. He had a brother who also tried the same thing but unfortunately was killed by the dacoits as he forgot the password that opens the door of the cave. The dacoits were 40 in numbers hence is the title of the movie.
