Bollywood action thriller, Amaanat, directed by Raj N. Sippy and written by Sachin Bhowmick was released on September 27, 1994. The movie starred Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar and Kanchan in lead roles while Heera Rajgopal, Farheen, Mukesh Khanna, Kiran Kumar, Gulshan Grover, Neelam Mehra, Satyendra Kapoor, Navneet Nishan and Mac Mohan also played significant characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by none other than famous music director Bappi Lahiri while the songs were rendered by Kumar Sanu, Ila Arun, Alka Yagnik, Bappli Lahiri etc.

The movie starts with Vijay ( Sanjay Dutt ), who visits Mumbai in searhc of job so that he can arrange money for his younger sister’s marraige and also for having a water supply in his village. Lankeshwar ( Kiran Kumar ) is the wealthy person of the village and also the most cruel one. Vijay meets wit a conman named Amar ( Akshay Kumar ) and befriends him unknown to his profession. Amar brings him to his own home and they starts living together.

Vijay’s kind nature and simplicity brings a major change in Amar and he decides to leave his old profession. Vijay gets a job in Aggarwal Seth’s ( Mukesh Khanna ) firm. Vijay manage to win Aggarwal’s trust and becomes the favourite of him. After arranging the sufficient money for achieving his goal, he decides to reutrn to his village only to get the shock of his life?
