Bollwyood movie, An Evening in Paris, directed by Shakti Samanta was released in the year 1967. The movie starred Shammi Kapoor and Sharmila Tagore in lead roles while Pran, Rajendranath and Sarita also plyed important roles in the movie. The hit music of the film was given by the famous duo Shankar- Jaikishan and the songs were sung by Mohammed Rafi, Asha Bhonsle. The movie was shot mostly at the foreign locations such as Paris, Niagara Falls etc. The film recived good response from the audiences and tehrefore went on to become one of the most successful film of that year.

The movie starst with a rich girl, Deepa ( Sharmila Tagore ), who is on a visit to Paris in the search of true love. She meets with a young dashing guy, Shyam aka Sam ( Shammi Kapoor ) there. She falls in love with him. On The other hand, Deepa’s father’s secretary’s son, Shekhar ( Pran ) is also after Deepa to marry her. Actually he is in a gambling debt and needs the money immediately otherwise his boss, Jack ( K.N. Singh ) will kill him. But deepa refuses his marraige proposal as she loves Shyam.

Shekar meets with a girl named Suzy who looks just like Deepa. He plans to replace real Deepa with Suzy. But after spending some time with Suzy, Sam becomes suspiciopus about her. Sam follows her and finds out that she is not Deepa. He tells this to Deepa’s father. Her father tells him that Suzy is Deepa’s lost twin sister, Roopa, who was kidnapped when she was young. When Sam asks Suzy about Deepa, she puts the condition that she will tell him about her only if he marry her.
