Bollywood romantic family drama, Anand Aur Anand, directed by Dev Anand was released in the year 1984. The movie starred Dev Anand and Rakhee Gulzar in lead roles while Raj Babbar, Smita Patil, Rakesh Badi, Biswajeet, Suniel Anand, Natasha Sinha and and Birbal in important roles. The melodious music of the movie was directed by noen other than veteran music director Rahul Dev Burman while the songs were rendered by Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Abhijeet, Asha Bhonsle etc.

The movie starts with Arun Anand ( Dev Anand ), who is not happy with his married life as his wife ( Rakhee Gulzar ) is unale to concieve. Arun gets attracted towards his personal secretary, Kiran ( Smita Patil ) and even gets intimated with her. As a result of their closeness Kiran gets pregnant with Arun’s child. This things make Arun worry as he does not want his wife to knwo about this news anyhow. He then asks his impotent employee, Pratap Singh ( Raj Babbar ) to marrry Kiran in return of a huge amount of money. The another condition is that after the birth of the child, he will divorce her.

Pratap agrees to this offer and soon he gets married with Kiran. Kiran then gives birth to a baby boy. But Arun get shocked to learn that Pratap has changed his mind now and wants to keep that child as the proof of manhood. Arun then leaves the city immediately alongwith Kiran and the child. Years later, Kiran’s son, Varun ( Suneil Anand ) is now a grown up and consider Pratap as his father. Arun manage to locate Pratap and Varun and once again enters in their life.
