Bollywood movie, Andaaz, directed by Raj Kanwar was released on May 23, 2003. Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta played the lead roles in the film. The hit music of the film was given by the duo Nadeem-Shravan. The film was distributed under tha banner of Shree Krishna International. Former Miss Universe, Lara Dutta made her debut in Hindi film industry with this film. Both the actresses won the Filmfare Best Debut Award for their superb performance in the film.

The movie starts with two childhood friends Raj ( Akshay Kumar ) and Kaajal ( Lara Dutta ). Raj is deeply in love with Kaajal, who is totally unaware to the feelings of Raj for her. They both share a dream that Raj will become a pilot one day. Raj to fullfil Kaajal’s wish becomes a pilot and propose her for the marraige. But his dreams get shattered when Kaajals’ tells him that she has fallen in love with someone else. Raj bravely face the situation and tell her to go with her love. Kaajal get married with her boyfriend Karan ( Aman Verma ).

Raj leaves his home and goes to South Africa for a training programme. Raj meets beautiful Jiya ( Priyanka Chopra ) and falls in love with her. He decides to marry her. He goes to meet Jiya’s family, but much to his shock he sees Kaajal there. He comes to know that Kaajal is the widow of Jiya’s brother, who died in a plane crash. Now he finds it hard to remove his attention from Kaajal, who has also tried to commit suicide in past. Meanwhile, Jiya also discovers Raj and Kaajal’s relationship.
