Bollywood movie, Andaz, directed by Ramesh Sippy was released in the year 1971. The move starred Rajesh Khanna, Shammi Kapoor and Hema Malini in lead roles while Aruna Irani, Simi Grewal and Ajit also played important characters in the movie. The superhit music of the film was given by the famous music director duo Shankar- Jaikishen and the songs were sung by Kishore Kumar, Mohammed Rafi and Asha Bhonsle. The went on to do well at the box office and became one of the biggest hit of that year.

The movie starts with a beautiful lady named Sheetal ( Hema Malini ), who is a widow of Raj ( Rajesh Khanna ). Raj and Sheetal get married in a temple but Raj’s dad ( Ajit ) refuses to accept Sheetal as his daughter-in-law. After the death of her husband Raj in an accident, she seeks for an employment and gets the job of a teacher in a school. She starts working in the school to bring her son up in a good manner.

Among many other students of her, there is also a girl named Munni, daughter of Ravi ( Shammi Kapoor ), who is also a widower like her. The two individuals meets with each other and falls in love. They eventually decides to get married to each other. But Ravi’s mom ( Achla Sachdev ) objects to his decision of marrying Sheetal. She also speaks some very bad words to Sheetal. Situation becomes even worse when a village girl commits suicide and Ravi is being accused by the villagers for this.
