The social and action movie Angaar was released on September 11, 1992. The movie was directed by K Shashilal Nair and produced by S M Arif Shashilal Nair. The actors in the lead roles were Jackie Shroff, Om Puri, Dimple Kapadia and Kader Khan while the roles of Kiran Kumar, Nana Patekar and Achyut Potdar were equally important. The music of the film was directed by Laxmikant Kudalkar and Pyarelal while the songs were sung by Sudesh Bhosle, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Lata Mangeshkar, S.P.Balasubramaniam and Roop Kumar Rathod.

The action movie Angaar was a different movie with the signs of good performances and good characterization in the film. The movie was released at a time when Mumbai was making the transition into the cosmopolitan city it is now. The movie aimed the young but unemployed youths of the Mumbai city. The movie also raises a fight against crime and terrorism. The movie revolves around Jehangir Khan ( Kader Khan ) who is the dangerous don of the city and is taking interests in solving issues of the poor people in his court.

Jehangir’s youngest son Farid ( Mazhar Khan ) manages all the activities of the court. However Jehangir’ s frequency doesn’t match with his eldest son Majid ( Nana Patekar ) who is an architect and runs a construction agency. While Jehangir tries o help the poor, his eldest son Majid wanted to remove all the slum areas so that he can build tall buildings there. Jaikishen aka Jaggu ( Jackie Shroff ) lived in a small chawl and this unemployed guy was the leader of the poor people who faught for the justice.
