Ankahee was a thriller movie that was released on May 19, 2006 under the banner of Pritish Nandy Communications. The movie had been directed by Vikram Bhatt and produced by Pritish Nandy and Rangita Pritish Nandy. The significant roles were played by the actors Esha Deol, Amisha Patel, Aftab Shivdasani and Hrishita Bhatt while the actors in supporting roles were Amin Hajee and Vikas Bhalla. The music of the film was directed by Pritam Chakraborty and the songs were sung by K K, Babul Supriyo, Shreya Ghosal, Sonu Nigam and Kunal Ganjawala.

Ankahee was the first film for Pritish Nandy Communications in the year of 2006 and the movie is based on the theme of betrayal of a man to his wife. The man is committed to one and is in love with the other. The man we are talking about is Shekhar ( Aftab Shivdasani ) who is a common man and is working as a doctor in some hospital. He is married to Nandita ( Ameesha Patel ) for a long time now. She was also expecting a new member in their happy family. The problems started arising in their happy married life when one day a Miss World and Bollywood’s biggest star Kavya Krishna ( Esha Deol ) attempted to kill herself.

Kavya tried to kill herself by slitting her arm with a blade and was admitted to the same hospital where Shekhar was working. Kavya was one of the most beautiful ladues Shekhar had ever seen.  She was successful, powerful but still alone. She was looking for her mr. right and found the same in Shekhar. He was her first love ever but there was a problem that he was married. Shekhar decided to leave her wife and her daughter just to pursue his love in Kavya.
