The social drama Ankush was released in 1986. The movie was directed by N Chandra and produced by Subhash R. The top roles in the movie were played by Nana Patekar, Madan Jain, Nisha and Rabia Ameen while Raja Bundela, Mahavir Shah, Arjun Chakraborty, Raj Zutshi, Suhas Palshikar and Asha Lata were also there in the film. The music of the film was directed by Kuldeep Singh.

The movie Ankush was a social film that revolved mostly around a guy named Ravi aka Ravindra Kelkar ( Nana Patekar ) and his three friends who lived in slum areas of Bombay. What they all liked most was to hang around an abandoned house, and get into fights with rival gang and gangsters. The movie takes a turn when one day an elderly woman ( Asha Lata ) enters the house with her daughter Anita ( Nisha ) and asks them all to leave the house.

Ravi and his friends refuse to vacate the house. This compels Anita to call the police and tell them the whole story. Instead of making any charges she motivates them to do some work, assists them in opening a printing press and ensured that the boys do not fall in trouble. But Anita’s main problem was that she was molested at the work by her boss Saxena ( Raja Bundela ) and the day she tried to complain about him, she finds herself fired at false charges.
