Bollywood movie, Anuradha, directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee and written by Sachin Bhowmick was released in the year 1960. The movie starred Balraj Sahni and Leela Naidu in lead roles while Nasir Hussain, Abhi Bhattacharya, Brahm Bhardwaj, Shailen Ghosh, Rashid Khan, Hari Shivdasani and Bhudo Advani alos played important roles in the film. The music of the movie was directed by the music director Pandit Ravi Shankar while the songs were rendered by Mahendra Kapoor, Manna Dey, Lata Mangeshkar etc.

Nirmal Chaudhary ( Balraj Sahni ) is determined to become a doctor by profession as his mother passed away because of lack of medical facilities. He wants to start a clinic in the village so that he can help the pateients who are unable to travel to the long distances for their treatment. After doing a lot of hard work, Nirmal finally becomes a doctor and starts practicing in a village. He meets with a well know singer and dancer, Anuradha Roy ( Leela Naidu ) and instantly falls in love with her.

Though Anuradha’s father is against the relationship of Nirmal and Anuradha but the lovebirds are determined to get mariied with each other. Soon they both get married to each other. After marriage, Anuradha stops her singing and dancing and becomes a housewife. They also become the parents of a daughter. But after the birth of the child, Nirmal starts neglecting Anuradha for some unknown reason. What is the reason?
