Aparichit was an action sci-fi film released on May 19, 2006 under the banner of Oscar Films P. Ltd. The movie was directed by S Shankar and produced by Ravi Chandran. The main roles were enacted by Vikram, Prakash Raj and Sada while the presence of Nasser, Yana Gupta and Vivek supported the film. The music of the film was directed by Harris Jayraj and the songs were sung by Vasundhara Das, Shreya Ghosal, Leslie Lewis, K K and Hariharan.

There are many films releasing week after week and all with almost similar topics. We may like the films or dislike them but what the director S Shankar claims is we can not ignore the films made by him. The movie Aparichit was going to be titled as Anniyan as it has been dubbed in Hindi from this Tamil film only. The theme of the movie is about the corrupt and dishonest people. It is the story of a man who was fed up of these people and wanted to change the world on his own. The movie revolves around Ramanujam alias Ambi ( Vikram ) who is a lawyer by profession and loves to follow the rules.

Ambi’s accuate approach and good intentions are the reasons why he can’t succeed in this corrupt world. Even his father Parthasarathy ( Nedumudi Venu ) told him that he will not be able to change the world alone. He proposed his friend Nandhini ( Sada ), a medical student now but she also rejected him. Someday he comes across a website aparichit.com that follows the Garudapuranam, a type of judgement procedure, according to which all those who does wrong deeds will be punished depending upon the degree of their offence. Meanwhile there is a character Remo that tries to impress Nandhini, who was none other than Ambi.
