The social drama Apmaan was released in the year of 1982. The movie was directed by Dr Ami Asthana and produced by Chhandita. The key roles in the movie were enacted by Ami Asthana, Kishore Kumar, Meghaa and Suresh Chatwal while Manek Irani, Anupam Kher and Lilliput were also there in the film. The music of the film was directed by Vijay Singh while the songs were sung by Shabbir Kumar, Asha Bhosle, Alka Yagnik and Amit Kumar.

The movie Apmaan was a usual film that had nothing much to offer to the audience however its release was noticed. The story of the movie revolved mostly around a man named Roshan ( Suresh Chatwal ) who is currently an artist, struggling to get noticed in this world. He is in deep love with a girl named Bhavna ( Meghaa ). He does want to lose her at any cost and thus proposed her one day. Soon the lovers got married. The movie takes a turn when one day she finds that he was never in love with her.

Roshan’s prime goal in marrying the young and attractive Bhavna was to impress her client. He was found flirting with her cute and little sister and thus she slapped him. When Roshan’s client came to know about this he got angry with what had happened. This urged Roshan to take his revenge from her as he was unable to bear the humiliation, thus the title of the film Apmaan. He along with the client makes a plan against Bhavna.
