Apna Bana Lo was a family drama released on March 12, 1982. The movie was directed by J Om Prakash while it was produced by Jagdish Kumar and Vijay S. The main roles in the movie were played by Jeetendra, Shakti Kapoor, Rekha and Amrish Puri while the presence of Kalpana Iyer, Lalita Pawar, Baby Pinky, Vikas Anand, Rakesh Bedi and Mohan Choti supported the film. The music of the film was directed by Laxmikant Kudalkar and Pyarelal while the songs were sung by Asha Bhosle, Lata Mangeshkar and Kishore Kumar.

Apna Bana Lo was a family flick that showcased the story of an orphan boy who lost his parents at a very young age. He did not know anything about his religion and background but he was accepted by a man who taught him crime and thus he entered the world of crime. With the passage of time, the kid grew elder and became the most fearsome gangster of the town. He was renouned by the name of Master ( Jeetendra ). He currently worked under another gangster named Paul ( Shakti Kapoor ) who gave him money in return of his services.

One day Master comes across an abandoned child, and decides to adopt the child. The child taught him life and with this comes the twist in the story as he now wanted to become a simple man and leave all his criminal work. But it is very difficult to leave the world of crime and become an honest person again. This was seen by Master soon as Paul didn’t want him to quit. He also witnesses a woman getting raped and goes to help her.
