The action movie Arjun was released on May 10, 1985. The movie was directed by Rahul Rawail and Vishal Khanna while it was produced by Bunty Soorma and Karim Morani. The major roles in the movie were played by Sunny Deol, Anupam Kher, Dimple Kapadia and Raj Kiran while Supriya Pathak, Prem Chopra, Shashikala, Jagdish Raaj, Shafi Inamdaar and Paresh Rawal were also there in the film. The music of the film was directed by Maruti Rao while the songs were sung by Asha Bhosle, Dimple Kapadia, Sunny Deol, Shailendra Singh and Lata Mangeshkar.

The movie Arjun was an action film that was able to grip the audience for a long time. The story of the movie revolved mostly around a man named Mr. Malwankar ( A K Hangal ) who is a small worker living in a small house in Grant Road, Bombay, with his son, Arjun ( Sunny Deol ), daughter, Sudha ( Supriya Pathak ), and wife, Rukmini ( Shashikala ). Rukmini was his second wife as his first wife had passed away. Malwankar was an old man but still working for his abusive employer Ashok ( Ghanshyam ).

The movie takes a turn when one day some local gangsters were beating a man and Arjun intervened to help him with the help oh his friends. This was when his life changes forever. During the brawl, one of his friends named Mohan gets killed. Arjun finds the killer and takes the revenge from him. The police arrest him and releases somewhat later but he was not at all welcomed by his father. A politician Shiv Kumar Chougule ( Anupam Kher ) hires him to fight all the hoodlums.
