Bollywood actor, Ashmit Patel, was born on January 13, 1978 in Mumbai. India. He is also the younger brother of famous bollywood actress, Amisha Patel. Before entering in the film industry he first worked with his father in his business for sometime. He came in limelight after the controversy of his intimate MMS clip with sizzling hottie bollywod actress Riya Sen. However, later it is revealed that the so called MMS clip was just a fake. Ashmit started off his career with a gray shade character he played in suspense thriller Inteha in which he was co-starred by two beautiful actress, Vidya Malvade and Nauheed Cyrusi.

He shot to fame after the success of Murder in which he worked alongside Emraan Hashmi and sexy Mallika Shehrawat. He played the husband of Mallika in the film. He was then seen in a superflop flick titled Nazar in which he worked opposite pakistani actress, Meera. His next film came in the form of multistarrer Silsilay.In his next film action thriller Fight Club - Members Only, he played a totally negative character for the first time. He also did a movie with Urmila Matondkar in the form of Banaras : A Mystic Love Story which managed to do average business at the box office.

He once again played a negative character in Emraan Hashmi starrer Dil Diya Hai. He played a short role in the women oriented film titled Kudiyon ka Hai Zamana in which he co-starred beautiful Mahima Chaudhary. he is currently busy shooting for his next three forthecoming flick titled Toss, Friends Forever and The Flag.
