Asli Naqli was an action thriller released on November 20, 1986. The movie was directed by Sudharshan Nag and produced by A K Hilal. The important roles in the movie were played by Rajinikanth, Anita Raaj, Shatrughan Sinha and Radhika while the supporting roles were played by Shakti Kapoor, Amrish Puri, Ashok Kumar, Rakesh Bedi, Beena and Bharat Bhushan. The music of the film was directed by Laxmikant Kudalkar and Pyarelal while the songs were sung by Lata Mangeshkar.

Asli Naqli was an action cum thriller film that revolved mostly around a Seth named Laxmi Narayan ( Satyen Kappu ) and his wife ( Seema Deo ). They had a son who got separated at a very young age. They didn’t remember anything about their son but the only thing they knew about him was that he has a locket around his neck. Soon Laxmi Narayan also passes away leaving behind his wife with lots of property and money.

Laxmi Narayan’s wife tries very hard to relocate her lost son and with the efforts of many people including her relative Durjan Singh ( Amrish Puri ). The twist in the story comes when Durjan Singh hires a local and small conman named Birju Ustad ( Rajinikanth ) to pose for her lost son for a hefty sum of money to which he also agrees. Mrs. Narayan welcomes Birju as her son, and accepts him but what she didn’t know was that he was not her son.
