Bollywood action drama, Awwal Number, directed by Dev Anand was released in the year 1990. The movie starred Dev Anand, Aamir Khan and Ekta Sahni in lead roles while Aditya pancholi, Neeta Puri, Shashi Kiran, Rakesh Bedi, Parikshat Sahni, Raj Kishore and Vikram Ghokle also played significant characters in the film. The hit melodious music of the movie was directed by the well knwon music director Bappi Lahiri while the songs were rendered by Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik etc.

Ranveer singh aka Ronny ( Aditya Pancholi ) is the captain of the Indian Cricket Team. Indian team has just lost two matches of the three one day internationals against Australia all because of the dismal performance of its star player, Ronny. Cricket Selection Commitee then decides to give chance to a new player named Sunny ( Aamir Khan ) on the place of Ronny. Sunny attracts the attention of the Cricket Selection Coimmtee after hitting a knock in a Ranji Match. Sunny soon becomes popular among masses just after his entry in the Indian Cricket Team on the place of Ronny.

Ronny get enraged with this and decides to kill Sunny at any cost. On the otherhand, some terrorist are also determined to blow the stadium until and unless the Indian Army withdraws its force in the region. DIG Vikram Singh ( Dev Anand ), who is also the member of the Cricket Selection Commitee, is assigned this case and he soon manage to arrest the terrorist. But Vikram get shocked to know that his own younger brother, Ronny now wants to blow the stadium.
