The action comedy Baadshah was released on August 27, 1999. The movie was directed by Abbas-Mustan and produced by Bhawar Jain and Girish Jain. The main roles in the movie were played by Shahrukh Khan, Rakhee, Twinkle Khanna and Johny Lever while the roles of Shashikala, Saurabh Shukla and Sachin Khedekar were equally important. The music of the movie was directed by Anu Malik and the songs were sung by Abhijeet, Alka Yagnik, Shahrukh Khan and Anu Malik.

Baadshah was a comedy movie directed by the famous director duo Abbas and Mustan. The story of the movie is not original but was relished a lot by the audiences. The movie revolves around Baadshah ( Shahrukh Khan ) who is a private detective working with four of his partners Ram Lal (Johnny Lever), uki Lal ( Charlie ), Bhola ( Harpal Singh ) and Rocky ( Sudhir Lutharia ). Though they are capable of solving all types of cases but still have to attract the customers by using each trick in their book.

Gayatri Bachchan ( Rakhee ) plays the Chief Minister of Goa and there was someone who wanted her to be killed for his survival and illegal business dealings, he is Thapar ( Amrish Puri ). He makes a plan to kill her and government brings CBI for her security. While solving a case involving Seema ( Twinkle Khanna ), Baadshah gets obsessed with her. Since the case involved lots of cheating and fooling, she hates Baadshah for that. A CBI officer Deepak Malhotra ( Deepak Tijori ) was appointed to protect Gayatri.
