Bollywood suspense thriller, Baat Ek Raat Ki, directed by Shanatnu Mukherjee was released in the year 1962. The movie starred Dev Anand and Waheeda Rehman in lead roles while Ulhas, Chandrashekhar, Johnny Walker, Asit Sen and Jagdish Sethi also played important characters in the film. The evergreen hit melodious music of the movie was directed by none other well known music director Sachin Dev Burman while the songs were rendered by Mohammed Rafi, Manna Dey, Asha Bhonsle, Lata Mangeshkar, Hemanata Mukherjee and Suman Kalyanpur.

The movie starts with a beautiful girl named Seema ( Waheeda Rehman ), who is been held in the police cutody for committing a murder. Seema confesses that she performed the murder on her own. A renowned lawyer named Rajeshwar ( Dev Anand ) comes to her rescue and decides to fight her case in the court. He starts his investigation which lead him to some clues which points that Seema is not the actual murderer. But all those points are not enough to prove Seema innocent in the court.

Rajeshwar then once again decides to hear the whole story from Seema. It is then he reveals that there is someone who is trying to frame Seema in the murder. But still he is far away from the real killer. He then decides to play a trick which not only uncover the face of the real killer but also shock everyone associated with this murder case?
