Bollywood musical romantic flick, Baaz, directed by guru Dutt and written by Lalchand Bismil was released in the year 1953. The movie starred Guru Dutt and Geeta bali in lead roles while Jankidas, Ruby mayer, Kuldip kaur, Ram Singh, K. N. Singh, Johnny Walker, Jaswant and Yashoda Katju also played important characters in the film. The hit evergreen music of the movie was directed by the legendary music director O. P. Nayyar while the songs were rendered by Mohammed Rafi, Geeta Dutt etc.

The movie starts with a beautiful young girl named Nisha ( Geeta Dutt ), who lives a poor lifestyle along with her widowed father. They provides shelter to a freedom fighter named Ramzan Ali Saudagar ( Jankidas ). But when police reveals about the presence of Ramzan in Nisha’s house, they arrest both ramzan and Nisha’s father. Ramzan and Nisha’s father is then tortured badly. Nisha then decides to avange the humiliation which her father faced in the prison on her own. She tries to kill General Barborosa ( K. N. Singh ) but fails miserably and is arrested by police.

In prison, she is hired out ot work on a merchant ship. She alongwith a other prisoners overpower the ship and escapes from there. Some prisoners in the ship tries to molest Nisha but she is rescued by a guy named Raj Kumar Ravi ( Guru Dutt ). Raj and Nisha then falls in love with each other. But little does Nisha knows is that Raj is actually on the enemy side.
