Yesteryear superhit film, Baazi, written and directed by Guru Dutt was released in the year 1951. The movie starred Dev Anand and Geeta Bali in lead roles while Kalpana Kartik, Johnny Walker and K.N. Singh also played important roles in the movie. The superhit music of the film was given by famous music director, S.D. Burman and the songs were sung by Kishore Kumar, Samshad Begum and Geeta Dutt. The movie recieved an overwhelming response from the audience and went on to become one of the biggest hit of that year.

The movie starts with Madan ( Dev Anand ), who belongs to a very poor family. When he failed to get ay employement, he decides to enter in the gambling field. He starts gambling and makes a lot of money. He then decides to start his own gambling den with the money he won in the gambling. Soon he meets with a beautiful doctor named Dr. Rajni ( Kalpana Kartik ) and falls in love with her. Rajni also get attracted towards him. But Rajni’s father does not approve for their marraige and ask her to forget him.

Rajni’s father make her marry Inspector Ramesh. Madan’s dreams get shattered by Rajni’s father’s decision. He returns to his gambling den and there he meets with Meena ( Geeta Bali ). He then starts romancing with her. Suddenly Inspector Ramesh comes into the picture who arrests Madan for the murder of Meena. The prime evidence against Madan is the revolver which weas used for Meena’s murder. The revolver has Madan’s fingerprints on it.
