Bollywood musical romantic movie, Badaltey Rishte, directed by Jeetendra, Rishi Kapoor and Reena Roy in lead roles while Pinchoo Kapoor, Dina Pathak, Asrani, Raju Shreshtha, Urmila Bhatt, A.K. Hangal and Shubha Khote also played important roles in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by the veteran music director duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal while the songs were rendered by Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Suman Kalyanpur, Anuradha Paudwal, Lata Mangeshkar etc.

The movie starts with a rich businessman named Sagar Singh ( Jeetendra ), who is living a happy life alongwith her mother, two brothers one sister-in-law and a young sister. He meets with his sister’s music teacher named Savitri ( Reena Roy ) and falls in love with her. He proposes to Savitri to which she agrees. Soon they both get married to each other. But there is secret about Savitri which is unknown to Sagar. Actually Savitri is in love with some other guy named Manohar Dhani ( Rishi Kapoor ), who is a tourist guide by profession and wants to get married with him.

Savitri was told by a astrologer that her husband will die withing fourty days of their marraige and there fore she hesitates to get married with Manohar as she is deeply in love with him. Savitri wants to keep this a secret from Sagar but Manohar tells him everything. Manohar wants to marry Savitri anyhow. He is even ready to kill Sagar to get married with Savitri.
