The comedy family drama Badhaai Ho Badhaai was released on June 14, 2002 under the banner of Kapoor and Kaushik Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. and Mukta Arts Ltd. The movie was directed by Satish Kaushik and produced by Mansoor Ahmad Siddiqui. The important roles in the movie were played by Anil Kapoor, Kirti Reddy, Shilpa Shetty and Govind Namdeo while the presence of Farida Jalal and Amrish Puri supported the film. Music of the film was directed by Anu Malik and the songs were sung by K K, Anuradha Sriram, Shaan, Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik.

The family movie Badhaai Ho Badhaai was a remake of superhit Telugu film that deals with the human feelings, relations and love. Directed by Satish Kaushik, the movie is full of warmth and love that makes the film real and interesting to watch. Earlier Amisha Patel was contacted to play the role of Kirti Reddy in the film. Being a South Indian, Shilpa Shetty plays the role of a Punjabi girl for the first time in her career. The movie revolves around a cute and sweet guy Raja ( Anil Kapoor ) who can win any one’s heart.

The movie is the story of two families, Chaddha family ( Amrish Puri and Farida Jalal ) and the D’Souza family ( K. Vishwanath and Rohini Hattangady ) who hate each other so much that they just can’t have an eye contact with each other. One day, both families receive a letter from Raja saying that he is their grandchild and is coming to live with them. Raja found solace with Ghooman Singh ( Kader Khan ). Slowly he won his grandparents’ hearts and was forced to marry.
