The movie Badi Bahen was a family drama released in 1993. The movie was directed by Kalpataru and was produced by Sultanan Numani. The main roles were played by Raj Babbar, Meenakshi Seshadri, Gulshan Grover and Kiran Juneja. Some good roles were played by Kader Khan, Shafi Inaamdar and Satyen Kappu. The music directors of the film were Laxmikant Kudalkar and Pyarelal while the singers were Anuradha Paudwal, Kavita Krishnamurthy and Alka Yagnik.

In the movie Dwarkaprasad ( Shreeram Lagoo ), a wealthy businessman had loyal a servant Shankar ( Satyen Kappu). One day Shankar finds a girl near a river bank and brings her along with him. Dwarkaprasad assures Shankar that he will take care of all her needs. They name the girl Jyoti ( Meenakshi Seshadri ). When grown up, Dwarkaprasd’s son Vijay ( Raj Babbar ) fells in love with Jyoti. Dwarkaprasad senses this and sends Vijay abroad to study.

Vijay when back was shocked to know that Shankar and Jyoti have left. He searches for them and finds Jyoti who was with a kid calling her mummy. Disheartened Vijay loves and agrees to marry his dad’s friend Kedernath’s ( Shafi Inaamdar ) daughter Seema ( Kiran juneja ). What Vijay didn’t knew that the kid was actually Seema’s who was ditched and impregnated by Anil ( Gulshan Grover ) and now Anil was after his sister Asha.
