Bollywood action thriller, Badnaam Rishte, directed by Keyan was released in the year 1991. The movie starred Vasant and Varalakshmi in lead roles while Pratap Chandra, Ravi Verma, Nalinikanth and Uma Maheshwari also played significant characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by the music director Ravi Yogendra while the songs were crooned by Dinesh, K. S. Chitra etc.

The movie starts with an orphan girl, Sunita ( Varalakshmi ), who lives a poor lifestyle. She works as a nurse in a hospital. She come across a patient named Satish ( Vasant ), who has been admitted in the hospital due to alcohol abuse. After spending some time with each other, Sunita and Satish falls in love with each other. Sunita leaves her job and they both moves into a room in a hotel. They spend a night together and establishes physical relations with each other. But the very next day Sunita get shocked to see that satish has disappeared from the hotel.

He has also left an unpaid hotel bill of Rs. 3000 which now Sunita will have to pay anyhow. A kind hearted businessman pays bill on her behalf. He then takes her home and get married with her. However, his daughter is not happy with this. Soon the son of that businessman arrives at home. Sunita get shocked to reveal that her stepson is none other than Satsih himself. What will happen now?
