Bollywood movie, Baghavat, directed by Ramanand Sagar was released in the year 1982. The movie starred Dharmendra and Hema Malini in lead roles while Amjad Khan, Sujit Kumar, Reena Roy, Asha Sharma, Viju Khote, Urmila Bhatt and Birbal also played important roles in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directede by none other than veteran music director duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal while the songs were rendered by Mohammed Rafi, Mahendra Kapoor and Asha Bhonsle.

The movie starts with Senapati Durjan Singh ( Amjad Khan ) who refuse to follow the instruction of Maharaj and infact kill him. He then sends his mens to kill Maharani and the Rajkumar Amar ( Dharmendra ). However, SherKhan ( Dinesh Thakur ) comes to their rescue and helps Maharani to run away from there alongwith Rajkumar. They hide Rajkumar in a temple to fool Durjan’s mens. But when they later return to the temple they get devastated by learning that Rajkumar has been taken away by a gypsy couple.

Sherkhan and Maharani decides to make their own army to fight against Durjan singh. Years later, Durjan Singh is now dead and the region is now ruled by his son Maharaja Vikram Singh ( Amjad Khan ). Padmavati ( Hema Malini ) is the sister of Vikram Singh. Rajkumar Amar is also a grown up guy now and falls in love with Padmavati. How Amar learns about his real identity and how he takes revenge from Vikram is the rest of the story of the movie.
