Baghban was a family drama released on October 3, 2003 under the banner of BR Films. The movie was directed and produced by B R Chopra. The top roles in the movie were played by Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Hema Malini and Mahima Choudhary while the roles of Aman Verma and Sameer Soni were equally important. The music of the film was directed by Aadesh Shrivastav and the songs were sung by Alka Yagnik, Richa Sharma, Sudesh Bhosle, Udit Narayan and Hema Sardesai.

The movie Baghban is based on the theme of relationship between father and his son. When the child is young, the father take care of child’s needs and dreams but when they grow and enters in a responsible phase then it becomes their responsibility to look after their parents. The movie is a story of Raj Malhotra ( Amitabh Bachchan ), his wife Pooja ( Hema Malini ) and their four sons ( Aman Verma, Samir Soni, Sahil Chadda, Nasir ). While Raj is an ICICI employee, his sons are also well established to run the whole family.

Now Raj wants to spend time with his wife and retire from work. Even after their 40 years of marriage, Raj and Pooja are still in deep love with each other. Raj has always nurtured his family but now after retiring from work, it is the duty of his sons to take care oh him. But the sons were not willing to take their parents’ responsibilities. They come with a plan that for first six motnths, Raj would live with the eldest son and mother with the second, but after six months they will live with third and fourth son respectively.
