Bambai Ka Babu was a romantic movie with a bit of romance released on 22 March 1996.The movie was directed by Vikram Bhatt and the movie was produced by Ravi Vachani. Iqbal Raj wrote the screenplay of the movie. The star caste of the movie has Saif Ali khan and Kajol playing the lead roles. Atul Agnihotri, Dilip Tahil, Saeed Jaffrey, Reema Lagu and Vishal Khan were seen in supporting roles. Raju Khan did the choreography and Abbas Ali Moghul and Hanif Khan did the action sequences.

Vikram alias Vicky ( Saif Ali Khan ) is a boy who was raised in a small village. He travels to Bombay to try out his luck. He has a dream of making it big and wealthy. He starts to realize that dream when he lands up with a job with a politician named Masterji. Masterji examines Vicky by giving him small tasks to accomplish. Slowly but steadily he earns the respect of Masterji and his colleagues. After he has been trained, Masterji assigns Vicky a task to eliminate his rival Jaya Shetty ( Vishwajeet Pradhan ).

Masterji then has a change of plans and asks Vicky to befriend Jaya instead of eliminating her. The plan was changed so that he could benefit from the alliance. Later one day Vicky overhears Masterji and Jaya talking to ignite the fire of communal violence in the city. He swears to stop them from executing their plans. When Masterji comes to know of Vicky’s idea, he orders his people to find him and kill him. Vicky along with his friend Amit ( Atul Agnihotri ) and Neha ( Kajol ) fight against the communal forces of Masterji.
