Bollywood romantic action drama, Bandie, directed by Alo Sircar was released in the year 1978. The movie starred Uttam Kumar and Sulakshana Pandit in lead roles while Amjad Khan, Iftekhar, Prema Narayan, Raju Shrestha, Padma khanna, Amrish Puri, Utpal Dutt, Madan Puri and helen also played important roles in the film. The hit melodious music of the movie was directed by none other than Shyamal Mitra while the songs were rendered by Kishore Kumar, Asha bhonsle, Sulakshana Pandit etc.

The movie starts with Badi Rani ( Indrani Mukherjee ), who is tried to killed by Vikram Singh ( Utpal Dutt ), when he reveals that she is pregnant with a child. But the killer sent by Vikram has achange of heart and lets her live. Badi Rani then gives brith to a child and names him Bhola ( Uttam Kumar ). She then takes it on herself to brought up Bhola. Years later, Bhola is now a grown up guy. Vikram reveals that Badi rani is still alive and therefore send his goons to kill her. Badi Rani is killed by the goons but Bhola manage to escape from there.

Bhola then the route of crime for making his life. he is now on a run from police after commitng a robbery in a house. He is then rescued by Senapati Raghuvir Singh ( Iftekhar ), who in returns wants him to pose as his look alike, Yuvraj Uday Singh. He agrees to do so and meets with a beautiful girl named Rajkumari Radha ( Sulakshana pandit ). He instantly falls in love with her.
