Bollywood romantic movie, Banphool, directed by Vijay Bhatt was released in the year 1971. The movie starred Jeetendra and Babita Kapoor in lead roles while Shatrughan Sinha, Poornima, Ramesh deo, Asrani, Sunder and Durga Khote also played important oroles in the film. The evergreen hit music of the movie was composed by the very well known veteran music director duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal while the songs were rendered by Mohammed rafi, Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle.

Haria ( Jeetendra ) is living alongwith his grandmother. Haria’s mother died just after his birth and therefore he has no information about his father. Haria works as a elephant driver at the tea state. He meets with a girl named Gulabi ( Babita kapoor ) and falls in love with her. But unfortunately, the son of the owner of the tea state, Ajay ( Shatrughan Sinha ) also falls in love with Gulabi and wants to get married with her. Ajay learns about haria and Gulabi’s romantic affair and enraged with this, he decides to get rid of Haria at any cost.

However, Haria manage to escape from the certain death planned by Ajay. Ajay then abdcuts Gulabi and tries to molest her. But Haria’s elephant comes to her rescue and helps her to run away from there. Ajay ends up killing the elephant. Garia gets enraged with thsi news and pledge to kill Ajay anyhow. But he is stopped by Ajay’s father. Ajay’s afther then reveals that Haria is the son of the women with whom he had an affair before his marraige with Ajay’s mother.
