The social movie Bardaasht was released on April 23, 2004 under the banner of Film Folks. The movie was directed by E Niwas and produced by Pooja Galani. The actors in the significant roles were Bobby Deol, Ritesh Deshmukh, Lara Dutta and Rahul Dev while the roles of Tara Sharma and Vishwajeet Pradhan were also important. The music of the film was directed by Himesh Reshammiya and the songs were sung by Alka Yagnik, Alisha Chinoy, Shaan, Udit Narayan and Kunal Ganjawala.

Bardaasht is directed by E Niwas who had earlier produced movies like “Dum” and “Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega”. Bobby Deol can be seen with ex-Miss Universe Lara Dutta while his last film “Kismat” was paired with ex- Miss World Priyanka Chopra. The story revolves around an ex army officer Aditya Srivastav ( Bobby Deol ) who is in love with his senior officer’s daughter Payal ( Lara Dutta ). He is a brave and confident officer but was once asked to quit after an argument with his senior due to a difference in opinion of both.

Due to Aditya’s noncompliance even Payal decided to leave him. He then decided to start a travel agency and look after his younger college going brother Anuj ( Ritesh Deshmukh ). Anuj is a fun loving guy and also bit naughty but one day his activities crossed all limits for which the principal calls Aditya. There was an argument between the brothers over an issue that resulted in Anuj leaving the house in anger. Aditya reported a police complaint and was shocked to find that Anuj was killed in police encounter for possession of drugs. Aditya can’t accept the fact and decides to find the actual reason behind the story.
