The family drama Bazaar was released in the year of 1982. The movie was directed by Sagar Sarhadi and produced by B Chopra and Vijay Talwar. The key roles in the movie were enacted by Naseruddin Shah, Smita Patil, Supriya Pathak and Farooq Sheikh while Bharat Kapoor, Javed Khan, Yunus Parvez, Rita Rani Kaul, Malika and Shaukant Azmi were also there in the film. The music of the film was directed by Khayyam while the songs were sung by Jagjit Khurana, Pamela Chopra, Lata Mangeshkar, Mohammad Aziz and Bhupinder.

The movie Bazaar was a family drama cum romantic flick that revolved mostly around two young people Najma ( Smita Patil ) and Salim ( Naseruddin Shah ) who are in love with each other. But it would be more appropriate to say that they are currently having a friendly relationship. Salim is a kind of guy who wanted that girls like Najma should be financially independent and should not depend upon men. There is also a couple of Sarju and Shabnam who are in love with each other.

Sarju ( Farooq Sheikh ) and Shabnam ( Supriya Pathak ) also wanted to marry each other but the problem to their love story was posed by Shabnam’s father ( Yunus Parvez ) who has finalized her wedding with a much older man who is quite wealthy and wanted to marry her. The wedding date between this old man and Shabnam gets finalized and the wedding was soon to happen. It was now Sarju’s responsibility to talk to Shabnam’s parents.
