Bollywood romantic family drama, Bedard Zamana Kya Jaane, directed by Babubhai Mistri was released in the year 1959. The movie starred Ashok Kumar and Ratnamala in lead roles while Nirupa Roy, Iftekhar, Pran, Sudesh Kumar, Shaikh, Amirbai Karnataki, Helen, neelam and Jabeen Jalil also played important characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by the well known music director duo Kalyanji Anand ji while the songs were sung by Mohammed Rafi, Mukesh, Lata Mangeshkar, Geeta Dutt etc.

Ashok ( Ashok Kumar ) is an honest barrister by profession. He is living a welathy lifestyle in Bombay alongwith his sister-in-law and a young son named Ramesh. Ashok is a widower. He meets with an accident and accidently runs over a woman. He then brings her home and provides medical treatment to her. She later tells him that her name is Kamla ( Nirupa Roy ) and she is homeless. Ashok ask her to stay in the house. kamla becomes friendly with Ramesh much to the delight of Ashok.

Ashok then decides to get married with her and soon they both get married. Kamla becomes pregnant shortly. Ashok get shocked when he is told by his friend, Pran ( Pran ) that Kamla had been frequenting a club. Ashok becomes more suspicious on her when he sees her abusing Ramesh. he throws her out of the house when she tries to give poison to Ramesh. kamla gives birth to a child but ashok takes over the sole custody of the child.
