The romantic family drama Beta was released on April 3, 1992. The movie was directed by Indra Kumar and produced by Ashok Thakeria along with Indra Kumar himself. The key roles in the movie were played by Anil Kapoor, Aruna Irani, Madhuri Dixit and Anupam Kher while the presence of Satyen Kappu, Kunika and Bharti Achrekar supported the film. Music of the film was directed by Anand Chitragupt and Milind Chitragupt while the songs were sung by Udit Narayan, Anuradha Paudwal, Pankaj Udhas and Indrajeet.

The romantic and family movie Beta was a huge hit of its time and did well to grip the audience. The movie explored the day to day lives of various people living in the rural areas. The movie was mostly about Raju ( Anil Kapoor ) who is the only child of a widowed millionaire. While Raju’s father ( Akash Khurana ) provided him with everything that Raju wanted but still he missed the love of his mother. Raju was in desperate need of a loving mother and just to fulfill this need of his, Raju’s father marries Laxmi ( Aruna Irani ).

Raju’s father hoped that Laxmi would take proper care of his son. Raju also loved her mother blindly and very much that he did everything requied to please her. He also took proper care of her. With the passage of time, Raju becomes mature and marries Saraswati ( Madhuri Dixit ). Saraswati notices that the love of Raju’s mother Laxmi is fake and all she is interested in is Raju’s wealth. Laxmi was also inspired by her brother Totaram ( Anupam Kher ) and his wife ( Bharti Achrekar ).
