Bollywood comic caper, Beti No. 1, directed by Rama Rao Tatineni and written by Santosh Saroj waqs released on November 10, 2000. The movie starred Govinda and Rambha in lead roles while Aruna Irani, Johnny Lever, Rakesh Bedi, Laxmikant Berde, Prem Chopra, Birbal, Avtra Gill, Mohan Joshi, Satyendra Kapoor, Ashok Saraf and Razak Khan also played important roles in the film. The music of the film was directed by Vuju Sharma and Guru Sharma in collaboration while the songs were rendered by Udit Narayan, Abhijeet, Amit Kumar, Anuradha Patel etc.

The movie stars with a family headed by Durga Devi ( Aruna Irani ), who runs the household in a very strict manner and even did’t allow her husband to interfere in it. She has three sons, Ram ( Ashok Saraf ), Laxman ( Laxmikant Berde ) and Bharat ( Govinda ). Ram and Laxman are married but have produced only girls. Durga wants them to bear a son for the next generation. Meanwhile, Bharat falls in love with Priay ( Rambha ), who belongs to a poor family. He somehow manage to convince Durga for their marraige. Soon Bharat and Priya get married to each other.

After marraige, Durga decides to make Priya work like a slave in the house. But soon she becomes very happy with her as she learns that Priya is expecting a baby. Priya gives birth to a girl in the hospital. But for the sake of Durga’s life, who is also admitted in the same hospital, Bharat decides to hide the gender of the child for the time being. But this one misundertsnading leads to some very funny situations.
