Bewafaa was a social drama released on February 25, 2005 under the banner of Sridevi Productions. The movie was directed by Dharmesh Darshan and produced by Boney Kapoor. The actors in the lead roles were Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Akshay Kumar and Sushmita Sen while the roles of Manoj Bajpai and Shamita Shetty were equally important. The music of the film was directed by Nadeem Saifee and Shravan Kumar while the songs were sung by Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik, Lata Mangeshkar, Kumar Sanu and Sapna Mukherjee.

The movie Bewafaa had everything what it required like great casts, good script but the director lacked that something that was required to make it a hit. The theme on which the movie is based is about the relationships and morals of fast people in this modern world. It is the story of Anjali ( Kareena Kapoor ) who is living in Montreal with her Canadian mother ( Nafisa Ali ) and her Indian father ( Kabir Bedi ). She is a father’s girl and shares healthy relations with her parents but hides one secret from them which she reveals to her elder sister Aarti ( Sushmita Sen ).

The secret was that she loved a promising musician Raja ( Akshay Kumar )who even didn’t belong to well to do family. Aarti wanted to help them by making her parents realize about their true love but could not do so as she had an unfortunate death after delivering the twin babies. Now Anjali was required to marry Aarti’s husband Aditya Sahai ( Anil Kapoor ). Aditya is a mature man and also a busy businessman who didn’t have time for his wife and babies. Meanwhile, Raja turns a good musician and comes across her again. Now she is stuck between the two men.
