The family drama Bhagyawan was released on December 10, 1993. The producer of the movie was Upendra Jha and was directed by S Subhash. The top roles in the movie were played by Govinda, Juhi Chawla, Pran and Johny Lever while Asha Parekh, Aruna irani and Ranjit had some good roles. The music was directed by Anand Chitragupt and Milind Chitragupt. The singers were Abhijeet, Udit Narayan, Sadhana Sargam and Kavita Krishnamurthy.

The movie opens up with Dhanraj ( Pran ) finding out that his sister, Pushpa is pregnant and the man accountable for this is his boss Hira ( Ranjit ). He pleads Hira to marry his sister but Hira tells him to get the baby aborted. Puspha kills herself. Hira throws Dhanraj out of the job. Thus, Dhanraj and his family were like paupers begging for money. Frustrated Dhnaraj mixes poison with food so as to kill himself and his family.

A boy, Amar ( Govinda ) steals the food from him and runs away. Dhanraj catches him and finds a winning lottery ticket with him. He adopts Amar and they were now a happy family. Amar grows to be a police Inspector. Dhanraj’s son’s Vishwas’s wife blames Amar of sexually harassing her. Thus, Amar leaves the house. Dhanraj who considered Amar his lucky charm was afraid the bad will start for him and soon he gets arrested. What will he do?
