Bollywood movie, Bhavana, directed by Parveen Bhatt was released in the year 1984. The movie starred Marc Zuber and Zeenat Aman in lead roles while Saeed Jaffrey, Rohini Hattangadi, Kanwaljeet Singh, Asha Lata, Rajesh Puri, Urmila Matondkar, Rajesh Bhatt, Somesh Aggarwal, Shabana Azmi and Satish Shah also played important characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was composed by none other than the well known music director Bappi lahiri while the songs were rendered by Jagjit Singh, Chitra Singh, Asha Bhonsle and Lata Mangeshkar.

The movie starts with a women named Bhavana ( Zeenat Aman ), who is living a lonley life in the city as there is no one around her. Her life is a completely dull. She then come across a guy named Ajay Kapoor ( Marc Zuber ), who is a talented painter. She get attracted towards his painting and becomes friendly with him. Soon they both get attracted towards each other. They eventually falls in love and decides to get married to each other. Ajay belongs to a wealthy family. He introduces Bhavana to his parenst who refuse to accept her as his son’s bride. Ajay remains on his decision and get married to Bhavana against his parents wishes.

Ajay is thrown out of the house by his father after his marriage to Bhavana. Ajay and Bhavana starts living together in a new house. But Ajay soon realizes that the realities are even more tough to face than he thought. He finds it difficult to live a poor life. He then decides to return to his parents leaving behind Bhavana. He get married to another women. Bhavana becomes determined to get rich as she now has only aim of her life and that is to teach Ajay a lesson. She wants to make Ajay and his family poor at any cost.
