Bollywood comic musical thriller, Bhoot Bungla, directed by Mehmood and written by Ranjan Bose was released in the year 1965. The movie starred Mehmood and Tanuja in lead roles while Mohan Chotti, Nasir Hussin, Asit Sen, Jagdish Raj, Nana Palsiker and Shivraj also played significant characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by the well known veteran music director Rahul Dev Burman while the songs were rendered by Kishore Kumar, Manna Dey, Lata Mangeshkar etc.

The movie starts with a guy named Mohan Kumar ( Mehmood ), who is a detective by profession. He is assigned the task of investigating about a house which has been termed as Bhoot Bungla by the people. People believes that the house is haunted by some ghosts who sing and dance alte night in the house. Mohan decides to investigate about it. He is determined to reveal the secret of the house and the noises that come from it in the late night. He is sure that there are no ghosts in the house.

He wants to prove to the people that there are no ghosts in the house. He walks in the house to live alongwith a girl named Rekha ( Tanuja ) and her mysterious uncle, Shyamlal ( Nasir Hussain ). But soon he realises that he has committed a big mistake by entering in the house as now he is also starts believing that the house is haunted by some ghosts. What to happen next?
