The movie Bhoothnath was released on May 9, 2008 under the banner of B R Films. It is the children drama directed by Vivek Sharma and produced by Ravi Chopra. The actors of the movie in lead roles are Amitabh Bachchan, Juhi Chawla, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Shahrukh Khan, Aman Siddiqui, Nauheed Cyrusi, Rajpal Yadav, Satish Shah, Neena Kulkarni, Aashish Chaudhary and Shashi Kiran. The music directors of the movie are Vishal Dadlani, Shekhar Ravjiani, Salim Merchant and Sulaiman Merchant and the songs of the movie are sung by Amitabh Bachchan,  Sneha Suresh, Armaan Malik, Hariharan, Koushtuv Ghosh, Aparnaa Bhaagwat, Shravan Suresh, Sukhwinder Singh and Juhi Chawla.

The movie is the first film as a director for Vivek Sharma and is quite funny and bit scary at times. The debutant director has done a good job and has also teamed up with two big stars of the Bollywood Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. The film gets emotional when the relationship between the ghost and the child develops. The story of the movie is about a ghost in a neglected house in Goa. The ghost Kailash Nath ( Amitabh Bachchan ) was reserved earlier but later involves in michievious activities of Banku ( Aman Siddiqui ), when he finds his grandson in him. They share a strong bond between them and do a lot of naughty activities at home and school.

Banku is naughty, loves to play pranks, and builds fictitious stories to trouble his mom. Anjali Sharma ( Juhi Chawla ) is a easy going, fun loving mother of Banku and loves him a lot. Principal Irani ( Satish Shah ) is the prinicipal at Banku’s new school and loves to eat students’ luch boxes. He is the prime target for all prank activities by Banku and Bhoothnath. The drunkard Anthony ( Rajpal Yadav ) stays at Nath Villa where nobody dared to stay. Boothnath scares their family so that they move out from Nath Villa where his fond memories are linked. Banku believes him to an angel and becomes his best friend. This starts with the funny side of the film.
