The comedy and family drama Biwi Ho To Aisi was released on August 26, 1988. The movie was directed by J K Bihari and Vicky Ranawat while was produced by K C Bokadia and Suresh Bhagat. The top roles in the movie were enacted by Rekha, Bindu, Farooq Sheikh and Kader Khan while the presence of Asrani, Salman Khan, Om Shiv Puri and Renu Arya supported the film. The music of the film was directed by Laxmikant Kudalkar and Pyarelal while the songs were sung by Alka Yagnik, Mohammad Aziz and Anuradha Paudwal.

The movie Biwi Ho To Aisi was a social family drama that raises the day to day lives of the people in the joint family. The story of the movie revolves mostly around Suraj Bhandari ( Farooq Sheikh ) who is a romantic, polite and soft spoken person. One day he come across a village girl Shalu Mehra ( Rekha ) who is quite opposite in her nature. Slowly both falls in love and decides to get married. Suraj was required to visit his home and see his mother, so he left Shalu at the village and went to see his mother.

When Suraj visited her dominating mother, Kamla Bhandari ( Bindu ), she wanted him to marry Mrs. Poonawala’s ( Lalita Kumari )daughter to which Suraj agrees hesitatingly. Just when the arrangements were being finalized, Shalu welcomes herself in the Bhandari household that comprised of Kailash Bhandari ( Kader Khan ), Kamla, Vicky ( Salman Khan ), younger son and a orphaned girl named Aarti ( Renu Arya ). Now it was the battle between Shalu and Kamla.
