Bollywood blockbuster movie, Biwi No.1, directed by David Dhawan was released on May 28, 1999. The movie starred Salman Khan and Karishma Kapoor in lead roles while Sushmita Sen, Anil Kapoor and Tabu were also seen in the important roles. The superhit music of the film was given by Anu Malik and the songs were sung by Kavitha Krishnamurthy, Udit Narayan, Abhijeet, Anuradha Paudwal, Alka Yagnik, Sukhvinder Singh, Hema Sardesai, Shankar Mahadevan, Kumar Sanu etc. Bollywood superstar Saif Ali Khan was also seen in a special appearance in the film. The movie recieved an overwhelming response from the audience and did exceptionally well at the box office.

The movie starts with Prem ( Salman Khan ), who is married to beautiful women, Pooja ( Karishma Kapoor ) and have two kids. Prem runs a ad agency while Pooja is a typical Indian housewife. Prem has lost interest in his wife as she is more busy with the children than him. Prem gets involved in an affair with a hot and senseous model Rupali ( Sushmita Sen ). Rupali is modern, stylish and wears sexy outfits while Pooja is a old fashioned, simple and saree wearing women. Prem prefers Rupali to his wife.

He also shifts to Rupali’s house and starts living with her, leaving behind his wife and small kids. Prem’s friend, Lakhan ( Anil Kapoor ) helps Pooja in teaching a lesson to Prem. Pooja now becomes a modern woman and signs many modelling assignmentsmuch to the disliking of Prem. Pooja also throws out her children from the house to live with Prem and Rupali. But now the trouble begans for Rupali as the children try to convince Prem that she keeps them hungry and ask them to do the whole work of the house.
